Air Pressure Leak‑Test Procedure for YCZX Air Receivers

    Strict pressure tightness inspection is one of the most critical quality‑control links for pressure‑vessel manufacturing. Every YCZX air receiver undergoes mandatory air pressure leak test before leaving the factory, to detect potential leakage risks on welds, threaded ports and joints. This standardized testing procedure guarantees that each tank meets international pressure‑vessel safety requirements for reliable long‑term field operation.

    The air pressure leak‑test follows three standardized working steps:


    Step 1: Install sealing plugs

    Fit properly‑sized sealing plugs with intact gaskets onto the side ports of the air receiver. Wear protective gloves during operation. Tighten bolts evenly without excessive force on a single side. Before testing, remove all welding slag and burrs, so sharp edges will not cut and damage sealing components.


    Step 2: Mount test air nozzle

    Clean welding slag and burrs from threads and end faces of the test nozzle. Wrap PTFE tape properly along the thread in moderate tension, then fit the test connector. Tighten manually first, then apply mild additional force. Make sure PTFE tape never blocks the gas passage. Avoid thread stripping or connector blow‑off. If leakage occurs, release full pressure before disassembly and reinstallation. Tightening under pressure is strictly forbidden.


    Step 3: Pressurize and perform underwater leak inspection

    Inject compressed gas up to 0.8 MPa into the tank. Submerge the air receiver under water. Flush the tank surface and brush all welding seams carefully to observe for escaping bubbles. If any leak point is found, grind the defective area completely, carry out re‑welding, and repeat the full air pressure test after repair.


    No air receiver will be released for delivery until it passes the full air‑pressure leak test.
